Professional history
2007-Present
Columbia College Chicago Library
Marketing Coordinator
In my current position as Marketing Coordinator for the Columbia College Library, I’ve supervised all aspects of the Library’s internal and external visual presence. I am primarily responsible for designing and producing photography for marketing materials such as print advertising, website design, and video, as well as supervising each step of our new collateral process. In addition, I’ve had to realize innovative design solutions within the college’s brand identity guidelines, including colour palette, typeface, etc. This position requires a mastery of Adobe Creative Cloud, including Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro, Acrobat, and Lightroom. It also entails supervising staff, event planning and oversight, and writing government and foundation grants. I've written successful grants for funding from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Illinois Humanities Council, the Illinois Arts Council, and the City of Chicago Community Arts Assistance Partnership programme.

2011-Present
School of the Art Institute of Chicago
Instructor in Photography and Art History, Theory & Criticism
I currently teach part-time in the Photography Department and the Department of Art History, Theory & Criticism at SAIC. My main duties include creating and administering studio and photographic history courses that combine theory and practise. Courses taught include a hybrid class combining the history of photography with hands-on practise (utilizing the reverse chronology method), a theory class on the body, language, and the photograph, large-format photography, and a comprehensive survey of the history of photography. This semester I've collaborated with the Dean of Liberal Arts in a pilot program called Writing Across the Curriculum, which entails supervising a writing faculty member and two teaching assistants in the context of my photographic history course. Day-to-day duties include lecturing to groups ranging from 5-100, facilitating critiques, tracking grades and attendance, supervising teaching assistants and staff, and leading technical seminars on the practice, theory, and history of photographic media. I also work with graduate students one-on-one and in faculty review panels.
